UPCYCLED DOWN

Materials Our collection of lightweight down-padded outerwear and accessories, offering superior natural warmth from reclaimed materials.

Upcycled Down™ is a collection of lightweight down-padded outerwear and accessories, offering superior natural warmth from reclaimed materials. Natural down is the best insulation that exists and ideal for lightweight outerwear. The down clusters have a unique three-dimensional shape which traps and retains your body heat, and also make it an incredibly soft and breathable material to wear in cool temperatures. It can be packed down and return to its natural fluffy shape, and it frequently outlives the items it fills, making it an excellent candidate for recycling. Down has an impressive warmth-to-weight ratio that no synthetic material has yet been able to match. Synthetic alternatives have been known to be more water-resistant and better at retaining heat even when moist. However, our supplier has developed an organic treatment that makes this recycled down more water-repellent and more quick-drying, thus keeping its loft and warmth even in wet conditions. The upcycled down is recovered from discarded clothing, sleeping bags and bedding products. After being sorted and separated into feathers and clusters of fine down, it is washed in natural thermal water and cleaned at high temperature without any chemicals. All ARKET Upcycled Down™ is certified to the Global Recycled Standard. Upcycling is a sustainable way of giving old products new value through creativity. It prevents the waste of useful materials, conserves our resources and prolongs the life of what has already been produced.

The grid is an essential element of our visual identity. It represents the notion of the archive and is used to organise and display information ranging from the names of plants to fabric weights and different types of materials used in our collections. These nine squares symbolise the separate parts that together form our world, and they are also the areas where we strive to make a difference.
