BrandsTretorn

Tretorn began as a rubber factory in the south of Sweden and has been utilising the properties of natural rubber to make functional clothing, equipment and sportswear since the late 19th century.

Tretorn was established as a father-and-son business in 1891, manufacturing and marketing rubber galoshes used by fishermen and other outdoor workers. The rubber factory, located in Helsingborg in southern Sweden, would expand to producing bicycle tubes, pedals, car tires and rain clothing, and later revolutionised the tennis ball with a permanently pressurised construction. The company was restructured during the 1960s with different divisions for its largest production groups, including wellingtons and rubber-sole tennis shoes. The iconic Nylite canvas sneaker was launched in 1967 and was worn by Björn Borg during the height of his career. Tretorn’s classic waterproof boots have been made using natural rubber as a functional material since the start, almost 130 years ago.
