A New Nordic Holiday Story

by Julia Thorell
Illustrator & author

For this year’s holidays, we have invited Swedish illustrator Julia Thorell to explore the modern traditions of the season. Based on the concept of a New Nordic Holiday story, she has created a shared festive table for our family and friends.

The scene is inspired by childhood memories and imbued with the lively, sometimes chaotic energy of family gatherings. Julia Thorell lives in Stockholm and is the author of several books on coming of age, families and modern relationships, including two graphic novels and the children’s book ‘Julia’s World’, which has also been translated into Chinese.

Get in the holiday mood with Julia's illustrations that will be on display in all ARKET shop windows from 26 November
