Design|February 2025
Meant to reflect our preference for simplicity, functionality, and longevity, the ARKET logo isn’t a logo but merely the name of the brand set in uppercase in our own bespoke type family, ARKET Sans, which was developed in 2015 by the Icelandic and Danish design duo Or Type.
At first glance, it is an archetypal European sans serif, characterised by clean lines and minimalistic design. However, it also exhibits more ‘humanist’ qualities, such as subtle variations in stroke width and soft, rounded letterforms that contribute to a sense of rhythm and warmth, reflecting the playfulness that is also essential to what we do.
Some of its unique features include an off-balanced letter R, a swinging K, and a pinched number 5. Used with a sort of non-branding approach across all mediums and applications, from signage to packaging and digital platforms, it aims to highlight product and content over and above the ARKET name.

Synthetic fibres such as polyester, polyamide, acrylic, and elastane have many useful properties that can be enjoyed in a variety of garments, including activewear and swimwear. They’re usually comfortable, quick-drying, and keep their shape well. However, they also shed tiny plastic particles that can enter the sea and cause harm to our ecosystems. Here’s how to care for synthetic garments.

Signe Siemsen on the freedom of trusting in nature
Interviews|March 2025
Plants have always been a source of both food and medicine, and the knowledge of how to use them has been passed down through generations. However, for most people today, that link is broken, and nature often represents something we need to approach with care. For Signe Siemsen – an herbalist, doula, and craftswoman living in Stockholm – having a relationship with the wild brings healing and meaning to what it means to be human.
