material Recycled cashmere
Our recycled cashmere is made from surplus fibres from the manufacture of virgin cashmere yarn – a resource that would otherwise have been discarded. These waste fibres are of the same premium quality as conventional cashmere, but available only in limited quantities. Our custom-made yarn is produced with a high-twist worsted core, to reduce pilling and guarantee stability and strength, and an outer layer of woollen-spun fibres which gives it its signature softness.
material Recycled cashmere
Our recycled cashmere is made from surplus fibres from the manufacture of virgin cashmere yarn – a resource that would otherwise have been discarded. These waste fibres are of the same premium quality as conventional cashmere, but available only in limited quantities. The supply varies from season to season depending on the amount of leftovers procured. Recycled fibres are never re-dyed but turned into new knitting yarn in original colours.
The recycled yarn is specially made for ARKET. It is produced with a high-twist worsted core, to reduce pilling and guarantee stability and strength, and an outer layer of woollen-spun fibres which gives the yarn its signature softness. Our recycled cashmere fabrics are knitted with customised machine settings, developed by our in-house knitwear technician, to further accentuate the natural properties of the material. This process also utilises raw cashmere more efficiently, reducing waste of a natural resource.
program Recycled cashmere
ARKET's recycled cashmere knits are made using surplus fibres from the manufacture of virgin cashmere that would otherwise have been discarded. Recycled cashmere yarn has the same premium quality as virgin yarn and is spun by twisting together two strands in different directions to achieve strength and stability as well as softness.
