How to care for leather garments

Leather is a hard-wearing yet sensitive natural material. As leather ages, it develops a beautiful patina, showcasing its unique character and history over time.

Handling leather garments

  • Wear your leather garments in dry weather conditions to prevent stains and damage.

  • Avoid using the same leather garment every day to let it breathe and maintain its texture.

Cleaning leather garments

  • Regular dusting: Use a soft, dry cloth to dust off leather items regularly. Promptly remove surface stains from dirt, salt, alcohol, or other harmful elements while they are still fresh.

  • Professional cleaning: For tough stains or overall cleaning, consider taking your leather item to a professional cleaner experienced with leather.

Storing leather garments

  • Store leather items in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent fading and drying out.

  • Use a breathable fabric cover, such as a cotton bag, to protect from dust without trapping moisture.

  • Prolonged exposure to sunlight can fade and dry out leather.
