Unconstructed tailoring is used to create relaxed and easy-to-wear blazers or coats. It has no lining except for the sleeves, so you can see all of the seams on the inside. For this reason, the seams are binded – a sign of quality and craftsmanship.
These types of pieces also have fused details like the hem, collar and inside lapel. Fusing is when a thin layer of fabric is seamlessly attached to the back of the blazer fabric in order to provide support and structure.
Cotton, cotton blends and wool are typical materials used for this construction method. For both men’s and women’s pieces, unconstructed tailoring offers a casual and natural silhouette for everyday use.
